About Brockman House Inc.
In 1985 a group of Lockridge mothers believed there was a need in the area for a family focused facility. The mothers soon incorporated a not for profit Association designed to support and empower families in the area.
The name Brockman House was chosen above others as recognition of an early European landowner in the area, Henry Brockman, who chose the name Beechboro for this area to reflect his ancestral home in Kent.
Federal, State and Local Governments helped these local mothers realise their dream. Within a year, a purpose built centre was erected for their use, and in December 1986, the Honourable Kay Hallahan, MLC, officially opened the centre. Brockman House Inc. was born.
