A Giant Leap
Leaving your child or children in the care of others is a giant leap for parents. It may be that you are returning to work, or that your child needs socialisation, or that you need respite, but when you leave your children in childcare you need to be assured that your child is safe, their needs will be met, and that they will enjoy themselves and benefit from their experiences in childcare.
Honouring our responsibility
Brockman House Inc. Childcare Centre honours the responsibility that parents give us when they leave their children in our care. We are a not for profit Long Day Care Centre, Fully Licensed for 31 children (aged 0-6 years) and Accredited as High Quality. We do not profit from the care of children, rather the focus is on the care of the children and providing meaningful opportunities for children to develop through play. Parents and carers are pivotal in this process and are always invited to be a part of their children’s experiences at Brockman House Inc. Child Care Centre.
Staff Professional Development
In order to provide the highest quality of care for our communities children, all of our staff are highly trained and partake in professional development opportunities throughout the year. All of our staff have National & Working With Children Checks and every single staff member has current Senior First Aid Certification. Staff are involved in their induction process, the develop of policies and procedures in order that they be relevant and the continuation of the Quality Assurance processes.
Nutritious Menus
Our kitchen is staffed by a Food Coordinator and holds a Gold Star rating from the City of Swan. Our nutritious menus are popular, having previously won the Start Right Eat Right Award and they are updated annually to ensure parents input and variety for children. Our kitchen is also Halal certified.
Programming
Our staff have time off the floor each week to prepare programming for the children. Programming for the children involves observations and evaluations by the staff, input from parents about their children, and then programming for their needs. Staff will then implement a programme based upon those needs. Parents input is pivotal in this process.
Assistance for you and your family
The Child Care staff are supported by a Financial Administrator, Chris, and an Administration Assistant, Amanda. The Director of Community Development Fiona, and Family Support Officer Joanne, are always available to assist with getting support your family might be needing, including parenting assistance, family or financial counseling, or referring you to an outside service.
